Blabberings on Batman Returns

Let's take a break from the seriousness of life and the first Monday back at work (aaargghhh) after the school holidays to discuss the awesomeness that is Batman Returns. Just caught the rerun tonight on TV and am reminded all over again why it is easily my favourite Batman movie despite the recent reinvention starring Christian Bale. Two winning factors - Michelle Pfeiffer as the oh so tightly catsuitted Catwoman and Danny Devito as the deliciously disgusting Penguin. The two scenes I still can not get out of my mind since the first time I watched it many lifetimes ago is Catwoman flipping almost lazily across the street, nailing the landing in front of Batman, taking a pause to say miaow before [insert appropriate sound effects]!! the whole store blowing up behind her. The next memorable scene is the giant penguins somberly pushing the recently deceased Penguin ceremoniously into the water towards the end. Of course how can I also forget the scenes of Penguin devouring raw fish and affixing the promotional button on the chest of the the political groupie wannabe..good good stuff. We now return to your usual programme of fresh deadlines and assignments.
